Introduction

An absolute stunner of a theme! Elite is a beautiful, clear and crisp design that would be perfect for an e-commerce website, fashion, beauty, software, photography, consultancy or marketing website. There is no shortage of customisable style or colour settings in Elite; especially now that the theme includes features like RWFontKit, Bootstrap and FreeStyle!

Elite was formally developed by Henk Vrieselaar. Since coming to ThemeFlood, this ever-popular theme has received a minor cosmetic refresh to smarten it up even more. A lot more style options and extra functionality has been added.

Navigation

Mobile users to your website published with Elite see a simple and very user-friendly toggle menu. This mobile menu lets a user drill-down to any level of the website. On desktop, an animated horizontal / dropdown menu is used. Numberous style and colour pickers exists for both formats of navigation in Elite.

Banners

Banners provide a flexible space above the page fold to grab the attention of your website visitors. Within the theme style settings, you will see a group of settings under the subheading marked Banner Configuration. In essence, there are three powerful methods available to setup your banners:
  1. If using RapidWeaver 7 or above, drag and drop a suitable banner image into the Banner Image box, within the Page Inspector
  2. Turn-on ExtraContent 2 and place an image within this container using either the ExtraContent snippet or free stacks
  3. Use the FreeStyle banner technique, as documented in the ThemeFlood Knowledgebase.
Static images, sliders and possibly even basic video embeds are supported by the banner in Elite. The banner has no fixed height; it instead resizes to fit the content you place within. You can have the banner span the full width of the screen or contain it to the same width as you main content container. Optionally your site slogan can also be layered over your banner images.

ExtraContent

ExtraContent allows you to add more content then RapidWeaver typically allows. There’s one ExtraContent area at the top of the page, great for adding your social icons, date, time or whatever else. And as discussed above, ExtraContent 2 can be used to target the banner area with content. If you have not used ExtraContent before, please take a look at the chapter in the ThemeFlood Knowledgebase.

Font Awesome

Elite includes the free version of the Font Awesome 5 Icon library (the current version is shown in the theme details on this page). With Font Awesome you have several hundred icons at your disposal, in any colour and any size you like. And they are completely free for commercial use. No extra addons or plugins need to be purchased, to use basic Font Awesome icons in Elite. You can do some clever things with Font Awesome icons, like including them against page links in the menu or adding them to blog titles / file download links.

Changing the word 'menu' on the mobile menu

Smartphone and tablet users to your website may not know how to open the toggle menu, as indicated by the 'hamburger' icon, shown at the top right of the screen. To make things easier for people, we display the word 'menu' and a little visual arrow pointing at the button. You can easily change the word 'menu' to something else, using this custom CSS code:

@media screen and (max-width: 768px) {
.mean-bar:before {
content: 'Menu » ';
}
}
You can enter this custom CSS code either within the RapidWeaver General Settings > Code > CSS, or the Page Inspector > Code > CSS areas. Change the word 'menu' to anything you want.
