Introduction

A gorgeous, minimalist theme with particular emphasis on full screen, background images. You can either setup singular static background images (just drag a suitable image into the RapidWeaver Banner Image box in the page inspector*) or you can configure a feature-rich slider to effortlessly cycle through your images.

* Currently only supported in RapidWeaver 7 and above.

If you want to make an impact, then this is surely one of the most suitable themes for doing so! Foton would certainly not look out of place being used for your showcase or portfolio. An especially nice feature in this theme is the ability to toggle the entire theme content container on and off, so you can marvel at your background slider.

Background Slider

The background slider is very easy to configure with the Stacks plugin. Images are resized to fill browser, while maintaining image dimension ratio. You simply need to download and install the free Henk's Slider stack using this link. This stack requires the Stacks plugin, version 3 or above. Stacks is not included with Fuld.

Install the stack into Stacks, by dragging and dropping the stack icon onto your RapidWeaver dock icon. Launch RapidWeaver and in your project file add a new Stacks page type (if you don't already have a Stacks page in your website). Open the Stacks library and search for Henk's Slider. Drag and drop a copy of the stack into your page. Click the blue '+' button to add images to your slider.

These should be images you've added to your project as Resources or already uploaded to a directory on your web server. Simply provide the links to these images. Ideally images should be less-than 500KB each, to promote faster page loading and smoother playback. Slideshow settings can be adjusted in the theme or the slideshow stack itself.

Tip: To prevent the default 'sunlight forest' background image showing before your slider starts, use the Hide RW Banner Background checkbox option in the theme Miscellaneous group of style options. This option will disable any CSS background image applied to the page body. A solid colour fill will be used instead.

A Slider With Snippets

The demo download project for Fuld includes a page called Snippets. In here, you can access the code snippet (in the custom header box) needed to configure the background slider on a non-Stacks page. This is good to use for page types like the RapidWeaver blog, styled text, Markdown, HTML code or contact form.

Content

The content container can be at the left side or centred. Widths for your content container come in small, medium or wide sizing. All with different semi-transparent backgrounds or transparency. This improves the clarity of written content against backgrounds.

Sidebar

The sidebar shows up above the content, with or without borders. But default, the sidebar is turned off. However you can easily turn it on in the theme style settings.

Navigation

Both mobile and desktop users to your website see the same menu. A toggle menu brings the advantage of avoiding unnecessary 'visual clutter' on the page. The 'hamburger' icon is pretty-much universal across the internet now, so a large majority of your website users should face no difficulties in finding the navigation menu. There are three different menu positions for the menu; relative, absolute and fixed. With a fixed position the menu is always visible when you scroll the page down.

Logo

The logo and the website title have a link back to the homepage of your website. By default the logo is above the website title, when enabled in the Theme Styles > Miscellaneous > Show Logo. You can put your logo into the sidebar too.

Font Awesome Icons

Font Awesome is integrated into this theme; so there is nothing further that you need to download or add yourself. Just make sure you have CSS consolidation turned on. Font Awesome gives you access to over 500 quality icons at your disposal, in any colour and any size you like. Font Awesome icons are vectors, which mean they're great on high-resolution displays.

Responsive

The internet isn’t just on your computer screen anymore. It’s also on your phone, tablet and laptop. So when you visit a modern webpage the content responds to the device on which it is being rendered. Foton is a prime example of a responsive RapidWeaver theme.
