A bright, breezy and fresh free theme for RapidWeaver 6 and above, well equipped for quickly developing simple single-page or single-level websites. Gala works with all RapidWeaver page types, is really simple to setup and beautiful to look at. This could be a great theme to use for temporary websites, small business websites, personal websites and websites for special events. Gala is a mobile-first responsive theme built on Bootstrap, and uses valid HTML5 markup throughout.

Although this is provided as free theme, a basic array of style and colour settings are built into this theme; providing adequate ability to change many aspects of style and colour. Embedded font faces are used in this theme design; Pacifico is used for the website title and Open Sans is used for all remaining headings and body content. An optional website logo can be displayed prominently immediately above the website title (perfect for circular bio pictures).

Navigation

Gala only supports a single level of page navigation links (not subpages). However it would be feasible to manually create links to other pages, resources or websites. Such links could be placed within the optional sidebar.

ExtraContent enabled

The provision of 25 ExtraContent containers in this theme (these can be toggled on and off in the theme style settings) let you break-up your page into multiple blocks. All of these ExtraContent contains span the full width of the page, but you can constrain the width using free stacks like UsefulStack or by giving the content a class of .container in the HTML (which is what Bootstrap uses to constrain content width). The Preview ExtraContent Containers option in the theme Miscellaneous style settings can be used to see where all the ExtraContent containers in the theme are located.

Responsive

The website title and slogan use viewport-height (vh) units of measurement, thus ensuring lettering scales proportionately to the height of the browser window (for which the header container expands vertically to fill). The content container reduces in width, in response to the browser window width; therefore permitting content to scale and reflow appropriately. Support is included in this RapidWeaver theme for responsively scaled images and embedded video.

FreeStyle banner

The main header region within this theme design is a regular box with a coloured CSS diagonal gradient applied. Below this region is a FreeStyle banner. Like in other ThemeFlood theme designs, the FreeStyle banner offers a convenient place for a static image, slideshow or even video. The FreeStyle container spans the full width of the page. 10 example banner background images are included (named 1.jpg to 10.jpg) which can be invoked using the FreeStyle code snippets.

Sidebar

By default, the sidebar is disabled in the theme. However it can be enabled in the theme settings and floated either left or right. 7 colour pickers allow you to customise the colour scheme of content and links within the sidebar. The sidebar will need to be enabled for page types like the RapidWeaver Blog, as these place extra links within the sidebar (like archive links and tag clouds).

Social icons

You can very easily create a set of linked social networking icons at the top of the header, by combining Font Awesome Icons placed inside ExtraContent 1. People can click the links and access your different social media profiles. Font Awesome Icons are already built into this theme, so you do not need to buy extra addons!
